Sacred Spaces

What do Christian cathedrals, Muslim mosques, Hindu temples, and Shinto shrines have in common? Do Mount Fuji (Japan), Denali (Alaska), and Uluru (Australia) all share the same type of significance in their respective cultures? What makes the crowd at a baseball stadium different from a one at a megachurch? In this course we will explore ways the sacred is expressed in places around the world and examine how different communities regard - and use - those spaces.
