The Religious Studies Major

Admission to the degree program in religious studies requires a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.0. Students must earn an overall GPA of 2.0 as well as a 2.0 in all religious studies courses counted toward the major in order to graduate with a religious studies major.
If admitted to the Program for Religious Studies, the student will be required to complete satisfactorily 30 hours of coursework, including one 100-level course, three 200-level courses, and six 300-400 level courses (RELG 350 and 482 are required).

The Religious Studies Minor
Any student admitted to an undergraduate degree program at WVU may undertake a minor in religious studies. The minor consists of 15 hours of course work in religious studies, with at least nine hours at the upper-level (300-level or above). A grade of at least “C” must be earned in all courses counted toward the minor.
It is the responsibility of students minoring in religious studies to maintain close contact with the office of the Program for Religious Studies concerning the scheduling of the above courses.
The Religious Studies ONLINE Minor
Students can earn a religious studies minor online by earning a grade of “C” or better in five of the following courses: RELG 102, 219, 231, 232, 303, 304, 305, 310, or 350. Three of the courses must be 300-level. Online courses are available every semester, including the summer term.
